Team Classifications

🏫 TEAM CLASSIFICATIONS

NJISRA ski teams are grouped into the following classifications:

• Small Public
• Large Public
• Private

📊 How Public School Teams Are Classified

Public school classifications are based on student enrollment in grades 9–11, using enrollment data reported in the New Jersey Department of Education's certified Fall Enrollment Reports from the prior school year.

• Small Public: Schools with lower enrollment
• Large Public: Schools with higher enrollment

🔄 Group Assignment Process

• Public school teams are divided evenly between the Small and Large classifications.
• If there's an odd number of schools, the extra team is assigned to the Small Public group.

📅 Annual Review

• Classifications are reviewed and updated yearly.
• Final group assignments are announced before the first NJISRA race of the season.

Final classifications are pending NJDOE Fall Enrollment Report, team renewals and new membership approvals.
Group assignments will be finalized before the first race of the season.
